About Us

If we were to choose one word to describe your education within the Pacific University Physical Therapy Program, it would be dynamic. Our goal is to educate physical therapists who are generalists with a strong background in evidence-based practice.

Our program integrates classroom training with practical clinical experience from the first year to provide you with high-quality theoretical and applied learning. You will also gain exposure to many different areas of physical therapy, so upon completing the program you will be able to apply for a range of PT positions and have the skills to quickly become a productive member of a healthcare team.

Our emphasis on service offers numerous opportunities to practice in local clinics, participate in innovative service learning experiences—even travel internationally to work in a clinic environment. Throughout the program you will work with a variety of healthcare students and our expert faculty clinicians, who provide caring teaching, consultation and guidance.

Interprofessional Experiences Our students have the opportunity to take courses and complete projects with students from the other health professional programs at Pacific. All health profession students complete an Interprofessional Competence course.

Life Outside Of Class  Your success in the classroom is linked to your fulfillment outside the classroom. Outside of class, take a deep breath and relax; our location gives you tremendous opportunities for recreation and refreshment. The program is housed at the Hillsboro Campus of Pacific University. From Hillsboro you have easy access to Portland’s cultural vitality and to the Pacific Northwest wine country, beaches, mountains and numerous opportunities for walking, running, biking, and water sports.
